Accounts Receivable Manager - National Accounts

The Accounts Receivable Manager, Nationals is responsible for securing quality and efficiency of the Accounts Receivables for National Accounts in the Charlotte Shared Services organization. This position is responsible for managing multiple portfolios of receivables to minimize accounts receivable investment, assure prompt resolution of customer deductions, and other issues. This position manages receivable and reporting activities within the guidelines of the Delegation of Authority and Credit Policy.


  • Motivate, train and equip the Accounts Receivable team to deliver effective and efficient operations 
  • Monitor overall productivity and quality levels to ensure the team meets or exceeds agreed service levels
  • Provide periodic reporting on portfolio performance and process issues affecting performance
  • Ensure that any operational or performance issues get resolved in a timely and appropriate fashion
  • Develop and implement operations improvement and standardization projects 
  • Provide visible leadership to the Accounts Receivable, Nationals team, promoting a culture of process focus, continuous improvement, and openness to change
  • Develop and maintain a good network and open communication channels with the relevant business partners in the local businesses (local Sales Managers and Controllers, HR Managers, IT Management, etc.)
  • Monitor to ensure expected quality and cost saving targets are achieved
  • Identify and incorporate corrective measures in the event performance does not meet established targets
  • Actively undertake activities to increase your own competency portfolio in order to ensure continued effective service delivery within the GSSO/C 
  • Develop, implement, and monitor past due metrics and targets
  • Ensure internal and external audit requests are met timely and accurately
  • Support other process areas as needed
  • Support the SR. Director, Accounting, Reporting & Shared Services

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Minimum 7-10 years of Accounts Receivable experience, preferable in a shared services environment 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading teams


  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office, JD Edwards & SAP are preferable
  • Experience in a Shared Service Center environment 
  • Ability to  motivate and develop teams and employees 
  • Skilled in conducting performance reviews of staff 
  • Continuous improvement mindset with ability to identify and execute efficiency and process improvement opportunities
  • Experienced in organizational structuring, change & people management, as well as customer care. 
  • Understanding of accounting systems and tools 
  • Initiated and/or managed projects that lead to structural business improvement in terms of costs and performance
  • Demonstrates the highest level of ethics and integrity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adjust/react quickly to changes and changing priorities
