Provides support and improvement of manufacturing processes throughout the facility.  Activities performed include industrial and process improvement through the EMS (Electrolux Manufacturing System), Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques implementation, development and promotion, to ensure the volume and productivity levels committed in Class “A” metrics, reliability of manufacturing processes, ergonomic considerations for a safe and continuous operations, risk-free to the operators; on-time delivery of products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Responsible to apply EMS (Electrolux Manufacturing System) in all areas
  • Coordinate EMS internal and external assessments and audits preparation to achieve EMS plant certifications
  • BPD (Business Plan Deployment) process, development tracking and follow up
  • EMS CIP workshop leaders and follow up
  • Lean Manufacturing techniques implementation (5S, Standard work, Poka Yoke, Kaizen, TMP, SMED, Visual Factory, Problem Solving, LB, BIQ, QG, OEE, IBL, PFEP, etc.)
  • Responsible for the work instruction (JDS) on the production lines
  • Defines line balances and staffing required to operate the factory at an acceptable efficiency level, depending on the volume required
  • SIOP (Sales Inventory Operations Plan) analysis 
  • OEE (Overall equipment efficiency) implementation, tracking and follow up
  • Calculates labor efficiency level for all processes in the factory and assigns routings to new products being introduced
  • Defines assembly sequences, assembly fixtures, hand tools, and equipment, as well as workstations design and layout for every operation in the factory
  • Recommends methods, materials, and layouts based on manufacturing and engineering needs and capabilities
  • Flexibility projects implementation
  • Works directly with all the areas in a team-environment for problem-solving, EMS deployment and support of new processes
  • Train and coach change agents to develop workshops
  • Training and certification of yellow, green and blue gears in the plant
  • Responsible to apply all the requirements related to safety, environment and quality systems including ISO9001/14001 according to his area of responsibility
  • Preparation and control of budget assigned to his area of responsibility
  • Talent management of direct reports performing performance appraisal, development actions, and career plan.

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

  • MS Office, Auto Cad, AS400
  • Experience in cross-functional manufacturing processes and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles 
  • Communication skills and ability to provide direction of technical and complex issues
  • Project management
