Financial Business Analyst

The Financial Business Analyst has overall responsibility and accountability for working with a Sales Director and Account Managers/Regional Sales Managers to help understand and communicate the financial position of the assigned Sales Channel. The Financial Business Analyst is the critical link between sales, marketing, pricing, and logistics groups; and provides valuable insight on a daily basis to the financial performance through analysis and reporting.  


  • Prepare monthly and annual forecasts for sales channel profitability
  • Preparation of the annual budget
  • Provide month-end and ad-hoc variance analysis and commentary
  • Management of contractual incentives and SG&A spend tracking, forecasting, accruals, and recons
  • Monitor volume rebates to determine the proper timing for accounting and recognition
  • Interpretation and communication of financial performance, implications, and recommendations
  • Perform necessary financial analysis for customer contract negotiations
  • Help support and identify proactive spend reductions and profitability maximization initiatives
  • Assist as needed with Internal and External Audits, including customer audits
  • Development of key policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely communication of financial information

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business
  • Enrolled in or completion of accounting designation
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience as a financial analyst


  • Financial modeling experience using Excel required
  • Solid understanding of accounting and financial concepts
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills
  • Experience working with and advising sales teams of financial and business strategies
  • Ability to adjust/react quickly to changes and changing priorities
  • Ability to work as part of a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with JD Edwards, SAP, and SQL a plus
