We are creating best in class consumer experiences in the areas of Taste, Care and Wellbeing and this is done by leveraging our direct interactions with the consumer, the connected appliance and the big data it generates.

We are now looking for a Firmware Design Engineer for our Global R&D Advanced Development Air Care department within Home Care & Small Domestic Appliances (SDA) sector based in the global headquarters office in Stockholm. Our Advanced Development team is developing features and product concepts for integration into next-generation/breakthrough products in the global air conditioning market. We’re a small team of 5 people of 5 different nationalities and we’re looking for 3 new colleagues! 

In this role, you will develop new products/modules/systems by generation, evaluation, analysis and development of design concepts, and you will be responsible for the complete chain of the development process from idea generation to solution validation and launching the electronic subsystem in mass production.

A regular day at work 

• Developing and testing (unit, system and acceptance) firmware of major scale and complexity; 
• Maintenance of software including defect investigation;
• Firmware design and implementation;
• Drive the execution of electronics/electrical development project/activities;
• Definition and execution of test procedures and GUI’s for debugging, verification and functionality;
• Analyze and document system and module requirements;
• Design and document individual modules; 
• In this role, you are reporting to Head of Advanced Development Air Care.

Minimum requirements 

• Bachelor degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent; 
• 2-5 years of experience in understanding of C programming language for resource-constrained real-time environments where MIPS (HW) and memory have to be utilized carefully; 
• Experience of techniques for communicating between hardware and software like UART, USB, CAN and others;
• Knowledge of embedded multi-processor systems and inter-processor communication techniques like I2C and SPI, as well as processor architectures like ARM MIPS or SPARC and peripherals;
• Understanding of embedded debug techniques and tools using debugging tools like protocol analyzers, oscilloscope, etc. 

To impress us you would ideally have knowledge in one or more of these areas


• C++ or C# development in order to test and debug hardware 
• Wireless communication protocols
• TCP/IP Stack
