We are looking for a bright, creative mind who would drive the development of our mechanical structures in compliance with internal standards. The person will provide a key support to the R&D team for the development of new appliance verifying energy consumption, vibration and dynamics of the systems.

You will:
• Define relevant specifications and ensure testing on:
- Thermal and electrical safety according to internal/external standards, including preparation of relevant documentation
- Energy consumption
- Noise
- Feature performance (eg. Front temp )
- Environmental impact
- Components/product reliability/Lifetime
- Components performance
• Ensure testing of key functionality and safety, compliance with technical standards (internal/external) and provide improvement proposals.
• Preparation of check plans (components, concepts, projects).
• Support Platforms, Product Care and Technologies for relevant testing, validation.
• Provide improvement proposals to platforms or technology development.
• Participate in concept development.
•Ensures alignment of test methodologies with other organizations in Global R&D Food Preparation.
• Participate in FMEA.
• When necessary, support the introduction and ramp-up of new models designed by the R&D into production (whether directly or indirectly involved).
• Proper maintenance of test equipment according to ISO9001.
• Support product development team to get the targets (time, cost and quality).
• May supervise and mentor other engineers, technicians or interns as required on a project or task basis and is involved in knowledge transfer within the organization or to relevant staff.   
• Creates, maintains and controls project schedules in relation to evaluation or prototype requirements. 
• Works with internal or external consultants, suppliers and manufacturers to develop and manufacture electronic, electrical or mechanical components and assemblies for prototype evaluation or concept studies.
• Ensure alignment of test methodologies with external authority labs.
• To track national standard updating and new national standard creation, ensure to have the test capability according to the update/new standards, and suggest R & D Product Care team if the product design to be changed in compliance with the new/updated standards.
• Participation in technical committees for the standard.

• Bachelor/Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with min 2 years of experience
• Experience in Product Development in home appliances or similar business areas.
• Proven experience in a testing and evaluation facility
• Experience in an international organization/company is appreciated
• Knowledge of authority approval: EN, IEC standards, and environmental rules
• Relevant experience working with electric / electronic systems available for laboratory purpose
• Practical problem-solving skills with a strong sense of applied engineering both mechanical and electrical.
• Ability to make mechanical and electrical modifications to test samples or appliances; fault-finding; understanding of electrical wiring and circuit diagrams.
• Good computer literacy, esp. MS Office, MS Project. 
• Ability to apply own detailed understanding of typical testing methodologies (DoE, statistical methodologies, CFD, Weibull analysis…) to the evaluation process.
