It is the foundation and enabler for new business models and offerings. We are creating best in class consumer experiences in the areas of Taste, Care, and Wellbeing and this is done by leveraging our direct interactions with the consumer, the connected appliance and the big data it generates.

We are now looking for a Machine Learning Engineer for our Global R&D Advanced Development Air Care department within Home Care & Small Domestic Appliances (SDA) sector based in the global headquarters office in Stockholm. Our Advanced Development team is developing features and product concepts for integration into next-generation/breakthrough products in the global air conditioning market. We’re a small team of 5 people of 5 different nationalities and we’re looking for 3 new colleagues! 

Together with the team, in this role, your mission will be to leverage Machine Learning for creating smart and data-driven products in our wellbeing eco-system. To make the eco-system smart and independent of human intervention, models are needed for user habit modeling, filtering, and prediction of physical processes and control of appliances. The tools used are both from classical machine learning but also from sensor fusion, system modeling, system estimation and system control. This offers the team members great chances to develop within these interesting fields. The team works closely with product research and development teams where the product knowledge and domain competence are strong.

On a typical day at work, you will be working with

• Developing, implementing and evaluating algorithms for automated data analysis of streamed sensor data.
• Developing algorithms for user recommendations and control of appliances.
• Evaluating models on the cloud infrastructure 
• Collaborating with product development groups in order to implement models into the ecosystem 
• In this role, you are reporting to Head of Advanced Development Air Care

Minimum requirements 

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or other relevant studies (masters preferred) 
• Fluent in any Machine Learning Languages e.g.  Python,  Matlab or Scala; 
• Understanding and genuine interest in AI and machine learning methods, data structures and algorithms, e.g. classification, regression, gradient-based optimization and neural networks; 
• Experience with modeling of technical and physical systems with algorithms for system identification and estimation.

To impress us you would ideally have experience in one or more of these areas

• Any deep learning software framework e.g. TensorFlow,  Keras, PyTorch  or Theano; 
• Cloud infrastructure, e.g., MS Azure, AWS  or Google Cloud, and being familiar with container based architectures and micro-services; 
• Distributed computing technologies and “big data” technologies like MapReduce, Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Storm, Cassandra, large-scale storage system; 
• One or more general-purpose programming languages like Java, C/C++, C#.
