Key operational responsibilities
As a member of Group Patents, you will be working closely with our business units in different development projects.
The key responsibility is to give general advice on patent matter and manage, independently or through external consultants, draft and prosecute patent applications and freedom-to-use analyses. The responsibility also includes handling - or supporting in - oppositions, patent conflicts and contractual issues regarding IP. You are also expected to contribute to the continuous development of the IP function within Electrolux.
We are looking for someone with a university degree, such as a Master of Science, and with broad technical skills, preferably in electrical or mechanical engineering. In addition, you should have at least two years of professional experience of patent work including drafting and prosecuting patent applications and carrying out freedom-to-use analyses within a corporate patent function or at a patent firm. Being listed for practice nationally or before the European Patent Office or at least to be close to finalizing the corresponding examinations would be highly appreciated. Very good communication skills both orally and in writing in English are required. Knowledge of German is regarded as a merit but not a requirement.
International experience is preferred. We believe that the candidate for this position should be very thorough with a mind appreciating the importance of details, as well as having the ability to work in a continuously changing environment. A good understanding of business needs and effects of IP is required.
