The Sr. Inventory Planner plays a crucial role in executing the Strategic Priority for North America.  The Sr. Inventory Planner will support the inventory planning needs of the business with a focus on the RDC inventory.  By planning and measuring the execution the inventory strategy, this position will be responsible for setting the safety stock levels, measuring adherence, reporting to leadership, and working closely with the technical teams to optimize the plan through system and process improvements.   Additionally, this position will be responsible for maintaining the inventory parameters to maximize financial performance with inventory turns and working capital.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage the operationalization of inventory plan through SAS MIRP process
  • Act as functional system owner (FSO) of SAS MIRP
  • Oversee the coordination, review and approve all RDC inventory planning activities for all business segments
  • Develop and establish a sustainable forward looking RDC inventory plan
  • Provide oversight and direction regarding execution of safety stock levels
  • Monitor Excess & Obsolete inventory, direct and implement corrective action to minimize levels
  • Ensure collection, utilization, and measurement of changes to inventory plan
  • Facilitate the communication of RDC Availability related activities
  • Own Replenishment Tool enhancements
  • Assist with maintenance of control system for inventoried items for all stock keeping locations
  • Maintain guidelines for stock levels and status decisions
  • Prepare month end inventory analysis reports and KPIs
  • Prepare inventory budgets, forecasts, and analysis reports per corporate requirements for all stocking locations
  • Assist IT team to prepare files for mass updates.  Able to troubleshoot errors or issues in processing.
  • Conducts periodic data quality audits; presents findings and recommendations; implements corrective actions to update data and / or process.
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales Demand Planners & RDC Operation Co-ordinators.

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Mathematics or Statistics with a MBA preferred
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a planning/inventory  role in manufacturing company
  • Understanding of how supply/demand planning impacts other functions of the business
  • Working knowledge of SAS MIRP
  • Ability to write SQL queries
  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment 
  • Capability to work independently in a fast paced lean organization and be extremely organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Spirit of continuous improvement
  • Minimal (10% - 20%)  travel is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SAS DDPO system
  • Experience in business process reengineering and program / project management and ability to lead multiple people and projects simultaneously
