As the Accounting Manager – Holding Company you will positively impact the North America Business Area by providing technical accounting support. You will interact with various teams, functions and global business partners to produce consolidated financial results, delivering financial statements, analysis and other key managements reports on a monthly basis.  Responsibilities include leading an accounting team by developing the competencies and collaboration of the team through people development and coaching. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • IFRS Financial Accounting and Reporting for North America Warranty and Holding Companies
  • IFRS Financial Accounting and Reporting for closed and sold operations
  • Accounting for technical subject matter: (i) litigation accruals, (ii) pension and OPEB accruals, and (iii) environmental
  • exposures
  • Preparation of US GAAP consolidated financial statements for commercial purposes
  • Financial analysis and technical accounting support for Group Staff functions (e.g. Tax, Legal, Risk Mgmt)
  • Internal controls for closing routine process and other general accounting processes
  • Maintenance of accounting process design and control procedure documentation
  • Coordination of annual actuarial valuations
  • Monitoring of cost sharing agreements with insurance carriers, tracking collectability of settlement reimbursements
  • Financial Reporting for North American regulatory agencies and review of financial covenants
  • Accounting review and treatment for contracts with customers, suppliers and other third parties
  • Update of Dun & Bradstreet financial and commercial information
  • Review and approval of journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Engaging directly with internal and external auditors
  • Cultivating relationships with business partners
  • Coaching and development of direct reports
  • Participation in special projects as requested by leadership

Minimum Qualification

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or similar discipline
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Big 4 Experience a plus
  • Minimum 5 years experience and proficiency in the application of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; experience with International Financial Reporting Standards is a plus
  • Minimum 2 years experience in external financial statement preparation or external auditing
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a leadership position or managing staff
  • Experience with SAP strongly preferred
