Advanced Systems Engineering Manager

Advanced Development Team is presenting a new position created in order to guide and coordinate the activities and future plans of the System Engineering Team in Food Preservation.

The Advanced Systems Engineering manager will be responsible to lead and co-ordinate the global plans for performance and control within systems engineering. 

In this role you will have two direct reports, representing the performance and control teams. In addition you will have a functional reporting line to the Global Systems Engineering manager as well as functional reports at the CTCs.

Chosen candidate will work at Electrolux Forum in Stockholm, Sweden, in an international and multicultural environment and have the opportunity to grow in this environment. She/he will be responsible for the definition and co-ordination and thereby alignment on the use of best practice tools and models used for defining the future cooling systems of Food Preservation.

Key operational responsibilities:
• Define and describe the steps to a fully digital development process within the areas of systems engineering; performance and control. Including making available virtual models for all tests and defining suitable functional algorithms (skeletons) for all relevant cooling systems and Architecture combinations.
• Supporting the development of a logical system for storage of present best practice models according to above
• Ensure alignment between system component configuration and the airflow arrangements. 
• Support the Global systems manager in setting up CTC expertise on individual systems solutions relevant to co-located architecture teams.
• Lead collaborative sessions with technical domains to gather information and vet technical opportunities, consumer needs, and optimized design.
• Generate novel technical innovation that can be used to gain competitive advantage
• Lead the Advanced Systems engineering team, and coaching team members
• Lead the training of internal resources on the tools, and ways of working
• Work with the Noise and Freshness teams to ensure alignment between proposed systems and user experience
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Master’s Degree (MS) (or preferably a PhD) in Mechanical Engineering / Thermo-dynamics and heat transfer
• Minimum of +10 years of experience in developing refrigeration systems

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Proficient with new project development activities; design concept generation and decision making, design reviews, prototype building and evaluation, design of experiments, process capability, design verification, milestone schedule management, and line trial activities
• Strong understanding of thermodynamic principles, developing and validating simulation models, interpreting test data.
• Ability to choose, develop and use relevant digital tools 
• Ability to run Statistical, DOE, optimization and quality tools
• Experienced on Global Standards and regulations
