CAE Engineer – Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany 

As CAE Engineer will drive and manage CAE activities during the development phase of new components, systems and product architectures. She or he will develop design solutions and drive design optimization for product performance, cost and quality based on CAE analyses. Will also be actively collaborating on new CAE tools, processes definition and implementation in an international environment.

A REGULAR DAY AT WORK 


• Develop new design solutions based on CAE analyses
- Perform CFD and FEM simulation analyses for design validation and optimization
- Create simplified models from CAD
- Generate parameterized simulation models
- Define boundary conditions and load cases
- Run analyses and propose design solutions
- Correlate and validate virtual and physical prototypes
- Perform DoE and statistical analyses for product performance, quality and cost optimization
• Support the development of new and advanced mechanical design based on thermos-flow dynamics, vibroacoustics and structural mechanics principles and physic.
• Plan and drive CAE simulations for product development.
• Create simulation reports.
• Present and report simulation results to different levels of the organization.
• Promote and implement new advance simulation approaches.
• Support and develop new and innovative techniques for simulation models validation and correlation.
• Define and improve process workflow for CAE.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (e.g. Aerospace, Material Science Engineering).
• PhD/post degree on CAE fields is a strong plus.
• Experience in working with cross-functional and international project teams.
• Fluent English.
• Strong structured and engineering approach during each development phase.
• Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
• Strong ability to track, control and adjust plans and activity lists
• Strong knowledge in CAE and other IT related tools
- Strong competence of thermo-flow, heat and mass transfer principles .
- Expertise in CFD CAE technology.
- Knowledge of FEM and structural analysis tools.
- Expertise on statistical, DOE, optimization and quality tools.
- Fundamental knowledge of experimental analysis in thermo-flow characterization.
- Knowledge of 3D design tools (CAD).
- Knowledge of reverse engineering (3D Scan).
- Knowledge of development and quality tools (FMEA´s, tolerance analyses…).
- Knowledge of the main manufacturing processes (metal forming, injection molding, die casting), design for assembly and design for automation
• Experience in working with cross-functional and international project teams.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma, LEAN principles and ISO principles is a plus.
