Category Manager Commercial C&A

In this role as Category Manager Commercials, you will be part of driving the category in developing and deploying a successful commercial strategy for the product categories, ensuring timely creation of innovative features and products.
You will be the link between clusters and CXO teams, ensuring effective launch execution and consistent ranging, based on deep product knowledge and understanding of market and competitors.

To succeed in this role you have good business acumen, ability to drive the business in line with the overall strategic direction combining strong analytical skills, passion for products, commercial aptitude and capability to see the big picture. You will have a wide exposure within the organization with many cross-functional contacts centrally as well as local Product Line and Sales counterparts in European clusters.   

A regular day at work 
As the Category Manager Commercial, you will develop and deploy a successful commercial strategy for the product category based on deep understanding of market, competitors and retail dynamics. Ultimately, you will ensure effective ranging, management of the life cycle of the products in the category and effective launch strategies and execution.

Some of your key responsibilities:
You have the full Profit & Loss responsibility for the sub-product category C&A in Europe leading the range and commercial product strategy definition in all the clusters/countries in scope
Owner of product life cycle – cradle to grave: opportunities, concepts, specs, profitability, phase-in/phase-out, and responsible for reducing complexity in strong collaboration with the CXO teams and Project/Operations Manager
Keep a sharp overview on the market, competitor and financial development for the category total/brand/countries and propose actions to reach targets working closely together with sales and marketing
Work closely with the Floor Care and Air Care Category Managers and create strong commercial packages of C&As to go together with the finished products
Create innovative and commercially relevant ways of selling C&A products in online as well as offline retail environments (activations, placements, campaigns).
Drive and support the private label business
Actively contribute to the product and generation plan development together with the Category Director and CXO team, ensuring input on market trends and consumer needs is given, acknowledged and considered in the product development phases to ensure continuous profitable growth in the category
Define the BA Europe range including target launch price, unique selling proposition, secondary benefits, etc.
Ensure that the local market product/offer is relevant to meet both category and commercial objectives
Develop and present business cases
Provide and present annual budget and quarterly financial review, progress and future outlook data for alignment on priorities and decision making with key stakeholders
Prepare and support outstanding execution of market launches together with clusters and Product Marketing (timing, ranging, strategic pricing, distribution, marketing activities etc.) for new projects and range updates for existing projects
Drive new business opportunities, and proactively address gaps or opportunities, together with CXO, sales and marketing
Actively contribute to the creation of compelling product value propositions and drive new product development together with CXO

Minimum qualifications

•Master degree in Business or Marketing 
•5 years of experience from commercial product category management and/or sales positions
•Experience from driving cross functional projects and stakeholder management
•A deep understanding of the online and offline retail environments is a requirement
•Fluency in English written and verbal communication skills
