Change Over Operator - Memphis
Assist the Powder Booth Operator with transfer of coated parts from main production line to furnace line. Assist with manual reinforcement of coated parts as needed. Maintain a clean and safe working environment with accordance to 5S standards. Train to provide cover for the Powder Booth Operator.
Remove materials, parts, or workpieces from painting or coating machines, using hand tools (transfer hooks)
Identify part and color changes coming from booths as required.
Assist Booth Operators in problem diagnosis and correction relating to transfer process.
Assist in identification of new transfer techniques for new parts or hang configurations
Communicate with the Powder Booth and unload areas to maintain production continuity (Critical to quality).
Identify defective parts before transfer to furnace conveyor (critical to quality).
Use the manual spray guns to reinforce and touch up parts as required.
Use compressed air to remove powder from NRFT parts
Return reworked material to load area.
Perform routine preventative maintenance as needed.
The powder coating booths are noisy environments with moving conveyors and robots which may start automatically. Powder coating recovery and containment systems are in use but some contact with powder can be expected.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift 35 pounds on a repetitive basis
- Ability to stand up for an entire shift
- Ability to work with and/or around insulation
- Ability to use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms
