SUMMARY: 

The cost analyst is responsible for providing financial support by creating and maintaining periodic reports that analyze and communicate actual performance and forecasting future performance.  The Analyst will take day to day direction from within the finance team and will remain collaborative in the interactions within other functional areas to help analyze and improve plant performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Preparation of timely and accurate financial reports to management including providing annual projections, periodic forecasts, monthly results analytics, daily reporting, and variance analysis as required
  • Participate in plant closing activities including journal entries, reconciliations, reporting and analysis
  • Responsible for the plant fixed asset reporting and associated inventory
  • Responsible for assisting in product costing and new product introduction
  • Responsible for plant capital spending, including reporting, tracking and ensuring timely project closure and validation of savings within the project tracker
  • Responsible for supporting departmental budgets and working cross functionally to ensure adherence to plant objectives and providing financial direction in support of initiatives
  • Responsible for Scrap Posting, Reporting and Analysis
  • Responsible for posting and researching manufacturing accounting for the plant and impacts on both Material and Conversion Costing
  • Responsible for system transmission between JDE and SAP along with associated account setups and research
  • Participate in special projects and various ad hoc analysis

Minimum Qualification

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or a related field
  • Interpersonal skills including: Attention to Detail, Integrity, Intellectual Curiosity, Time management, Customer focus and teamwork

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Knowledge of accounting practices in a manufacturing environment
  • Certificate in Accounting (CMA/CPA)
