The Cost Analyst is responsible for providing financial support, analytics, and reporting for cost and general accounting functions.  The Cost Analyst will take day to day direction from within the finance team and will remain collaborative in the interactions within other functional areas to help analyze and improve plant performance.


  • Preparation of timely and accurate financial reports to management including providing annual projections, periodic forecasts, monthly results analytics, daily reporting, and variance analysis as required
  • Participate in plant closing activities including journal entries, reconciliations, reporting and analysis
  • Responsible for headcount reporting including Direct and Indirect Labor, Salaried labor, departmental and plant efficiency reporting, and corresponding routings within the standard cost build process
  • Perform various cost accounting functions including, but not limited to, inventory valuation and conversion costs with main focus on driving efficiencies around labor and scrap costs
  • Propose and help implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce cost
  • Participate, partner and provide financial direction to cross functional teams to ensure plant objectives are met in line with labor value stream maps
  • Support compliance to Sarbanes-Oxley related internal controls related to manufacturing accounting activities
  • Identify, help execute and validate all labor cost productivity projects in ACE tracker
  • Support overall costing activities for the factory
  • Participate in special projects and various ad hoc analysis

Minimum Qualification


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or a related field
  • Exceptional technical and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for getting involved in all aspects of the business
  • Aggressive attitude and “can do” spirit to drive change
  • High integrity and team player individual with a high sense of customer focus
  • Ability to respond quickly and positively to change as well as acting as a change catalyst
  • Proficient in Excel


  • Master’s degree, CPA and/or CMA designation
  • Knowledge of accounting practices in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of general, inventory and cost accounting
