SUMMARY:

The Cycle Counter position’s primary responsibility is to work to efficiently conduct inventory counts to ensure accuracy.   


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Will follow instructions to safely complete tasks in most efficient manner.
  • Audit and correct bin discrepancies resulting from picking orders, put away errors, lost merchandise, and/or pilferage. Investigate missing items and report losses and trends to management.
  • Perform inventory location audits on a scheduled basis according to procedure.
  • Assign, execute or coordinate cycle-counts and inspections as required to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Perform data entry as required to ensure all transactions are entered.
  • Ensure appropriate management levels are aware of inventory problems and that corrective measures are implemented as directed.
  • Participate and assist in quarterly and annual physical inventory.
  • Must know how to present information and respond to questions from managers.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Will perform others duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Minimum Qualification

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

•At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment in distribution or warehouse environment with a focus on inventory management

•MRP/ERP experience required

•Proficient in Microsoft business applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)




PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

•Previous experience utilizing lean manufacturing tools and techniques preferred.

•JD Edwards or SAP experience preferred.




PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate computer keyboard and telephone.  The employee frequently is required to drive, walk and sit.  The employee is occasionally required to stand.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
