SUMMARY:

To lead the mechanical design activities related to VA & HA washers and TD dryers architecture in line with both the North-American Product Road Map and the Global Product Architecture strategy led by the Global Governance Centres. Support the Regional Product Care team in cost and quality improvement activities.

KEY OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage resource allocation to deliver product and technology projects
  • Support the Regional PDC indelivering the regional cost and quality goals
  • Drive the implementation of the simulation based design and six sigma methodology
  • Define and track the budget for sub team within the product development department
  • Guarantee the alignment of the mechanical design with the Global modularization strategy
  • Ensure compliance with both internal and external safety standards
  • Assure alignment between project design and manufacturability
  • Cooperate for the improvement of the design and validation processes
  • Contribute to the creation of the regional generation plans
  • Guarantee the cooperation with all GR&D departments and the sharing of the best practices and resources
  • Guarantee the cross functional cooperation

LEAD: 

  • Product architecture definition of new washers and dryers in line with the Global product architecture strategy 
  • System integration of VA & HA washers, and TD dryers 
  • Mechanical design of new products according to performance, cost, and quality requirements 
  • Development of team’s competence and skill set required for design excellence 

REPORTING TO:

  • North-America Fabric Care R&D Director

Minimum Qualification

COMPETENCIES NEEDED:

  • BS Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of engineering experience and 5 years managing engineering teams
  • Demonstrated experience in both product development and introduction of new technologies
  • Home appliance product design knowledge and experience
  • Customer focused.
  • Process and result oriented
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills. Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating personality.
