We are now looking for candidates to join us on our mission - the key position as Director of Communications APAC&MEA. As such you are responsible to manage and drive the employee, leader and external communications related to Electrolux in
the region.

Together with a dedicated and skilled team, you build awareness and engagement around the Electrolux company purpose, mission & brand. Together with a central team you develop our corporate communication practices. You and the team advice and support the senior leadership communications, you shape and drive our internal company storytelling for employees through our world-class digital platform as well as to external audiences via the social, online and print media landscape. You are responsible for reputation management, including issues and crisis communications.

In this role, you will play an important role to the communications journey of Electrolux in APAC&MEA and you will be advising our regional leaders. The position offers a chance to interact with communication professionals around the world, business colleagues across the region and also enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of our regional office in Singapore where many different nationalities work daily.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director of Communications APAC&MEA will lead a small team of professionals that develops our storyline and brings it to life through our internal and external digital tools and channels. This team manages corporate media relations in the region together with the Group communications team based at the headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden. Also you manage our digital platform for news and online dialogue with employees in the region. In addition, the team also implement our corporate social media strategy and online communication practices based on data-driven behavioral and impact analysis. The team also drive and support corporate social responsibility initiatives in the region. 

In this position you will lead a regional team within the global Corporate Communications function. We are looking for a modern team leader who has the ability to inspire and lead, to clarify roles and set individual goals and also to cross-collaborate with other colleagues and senior managers. This role has multiple touch points within the Business Area APAC&MEA business sector and global functions.

The team creates and manages the regional company intranet and contributes to the external news flow on the Group website and manages corporate social media channels, such as LinkedIn. In the region this role operationalizes the whole corporate news process from content creation to publishing, reactive and proactive community management and measuring results. Therefore, the candidate should have a very good feeling for what is news and storytelling to build a corporate brand. You should also have creative ideas and be willing to break new ground to position the company brand in the new media landscape. 

As part of the responsibilities is to ensure reputation management and communication readiness. You will drive our issues identification management process in the region and you play a key role in the crisis organization.



Minimum Qualification

POSITION PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Electrolux is searching for an ambitious, structured and news-driven team lead who knows the handicraft of translating Group narratives into compelling stories that work for different audiences through different channels
and modern formats. 

To be considered for this role, you must be well-experienced with corporate communication and know how to engage and
facilitate an employee dialogue. You know the language of social media and though you have a creative pen, you are also careful with the choice of words and know when to press ‘publish’ and not. You have an understanding of the regulations for a listed company and the assessments that relate to it. 

It is important that you have the ability to build an in-depth understanding of the company, its strategy, operations, business objectives and industry. You possess strong writing and editing skills and have professional experience working with both internal and external communication (journalist relations, articles, news, press releases, video and/or social media assets). Also, you are experienced with different digital platforms and collaboration tools such as intranet, web sites and social media.

In this role you are a people leader with passion for coaching, developing and empowering your team members. You have strong project management skills, including planning and scheduling, as well as managing deadlines, and have the ability to handle several tasks at once in a structured way. You are a trusted and respected advisor to senior management and actively seek opportunities to coach. 

You are not easily intimidated but know where and when to compromise. One of your skills is the ability to negotiate conflicting
interests. You are able to quickly analyze complex scenarios to determine where and how communication can help solve challenging business situations. You are self-driven and know when to make decisions and to seek advice. You know how to
build relationships with stakeholders and colleagues. You are well-experienced with reputation management including issues and crisis communications.

As a candidate you should have a proven track record from a similar role, relevant formal education and ten years of relevant experience in corporate communications and media relations – several of those in an international environment – on the company or consultancy side. You are fluent in English and preferably in an additional major or important language used within Asia, such as Mandarin.

The position is based in Singapore and travelling should be anticipated. The Head of Communications APAC&MEA reports operationally to the VP HR Business Area APAC&MEA and functionally to the SVP of Corporate Communications, the head of the Communications organization.
