OBJECTIVE

Electronics Lab Agency Engineer will be primarily responsible for agency approvals as it relates to consumer appliance electronic controls. The Electronics Lab Agency Engineer will assist the Electronics Lab Manager in providing technical leadership and expertise in the electronics components laboratory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for component/product level approval certifications.
  • Assist the Electronics Lab Manager in working with regulatory agencies to maintain certifications.
  • Ability for fine manual dexterity (e.g., soldering of fine electronic components).Be able to solder surface mount and through hole components.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and electronic schematics.
  • Assist the Electronics Lab Manager in maintaining the calibration of all equipment utilized in the Electronics laboratory.
  • Works with hardware and software design engineers to prepare test and validation plans.
  • Assist the Electronics Lab Manager in scheduling laboratory resources to meet component/product approval requirements.
  • Works in conjunction with design engineers to analyze test results and suggest improvements to hardware, software, PCB layout, and/or wire harness routing.
  • Assist the Electronics Lab Manager in providing support and training on new products to other departments and customers as required.
  • Assist the Electronics Lab Manager Interfacing with regional and global agency standards committees to guide and influence adoption/changes in standards.
  • Performs special projects as directed by the Department Manager.

KEY FUNCTIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced knowledge of external/internal electrical/electronic standards/specifications for home appliances
  • Working knowledge of IEC/UL agency standards.
  • Technical knowledge of cooking appliances
  • Communication skills on a professional level, ability to manage key accounts.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations under workload peaks.

  • Demonstrated proficiency and experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Able to bend, stoop, grip, reach and lift up to 40 lbs. On a repetitive basis.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely in English, verbally and in writing.
  • Able to stand or sit for the majority of the shift.

Minimum Qualification

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum two-year technical degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Bachelors in Electronics Engineering preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years hands-on experience with Electronics in a lab environment preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) plus years’ experience in an industrial R&D environment preferred.
