The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager is the leader of the Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and procedures for the assigned location.  The EHS Manager is responsible for all facets of day-to-day operations for the safety, health and environmental departments.  This includes responsibility for safety, environmental compliance, employee engagement, process productivity, efficiency, and quality for the EHS department.  


  • Provide leadership and direction to the leadership team(s) on EHS matters for the location
  • Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive environment, health and safety management systems and processes 
  • Keep abreast of pending environmental regulatory changes and advise leadership accordingly; including action plans and recommendations to maintain world-class levels of compliance for the location
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Legal, Quality, R&D, and Corporate EHS to ensure integration of environmental and sustainability activities into the location’s overall business processes
  • Assist in the integration and divestiture of facilities or machinery
  • Internal environmental recordkeeping and reporting
  • Collect data and prepare external environmental reports (e.g., CAA, CWA, RCRA, EPCRA) as necessary
  • Support responses to governmental agency requests for information on present and past environmental activities
  • Partner with Electrolux site and functional leadership in the development and implementation of specific environmental activities and initiatives
  • Facilitate regional and global sharing of best practices between Electrolux sites
  • Direct investigation of incidents and violations through root cause analysis, including developing and implementing corrective and preventive measures
  • Oversee the EHS department team members, including development and performance management
  • Ensure compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) Programs
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / EHS discipline preferred (e.g., Chemistry, Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, or Mechanical Engineering degree, etc.)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing EHS department in a manufacturing environment; 10 years’ experience managing EHS in a high volume manufacturing environment preferred
  • ISO 14001, OSHA VPP, or OHSAS 18001, Construction/ Project Management, hands-on experience desired
  • CSP or CIH Professional Designation preferred


  • Specialized knowledge and successful track record in the design, implementation, and monitoring of critical EHS programs including those associated with air emissions, auditing, emergency planning, incident investigation, pollution control, spill response, wastewater treatment, waste management, SPCC, TRI  reporting, AST/ UST, and general chemical management
  • Knowledge of US Federal, state, and local environmental and transportation laws, regulations, rules, and standards 
  • Familiarity with applicable NFPA Requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the capability to promote positive behavior through effective recognition
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and influence individuals at all levels of the organization to build strong collaborative partnerships
  • Strong business acumen and ability to embrace and drive positive change within an organization 
  • Strong knowledge of continuous manufacturing processes
  • Skilled in project management
  • Working knowledge of air-permitting requirements
  • Occupational Health Management System and PHA software experience
  • Experienced in the planning and implementation of EHS management systems and compliance programs
  • Demonstrated success in leading/facilitating environmental process improvements and management systems 
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills 
  • Strong computer skills
