European Category Manager – Commercial (PL Care - Washing Machines)

The Product Line organization is probably the most exciting part of the business where you will be responsible for developing and successfully executing commercial plans to optimize the market and financial performance of the product category in Business Area Europe. You will be ensuring effective ranging, management of the life cycle of the products in the category of Washing Machines and strong product messaging. You will be able to prove yourself with effective launch strategies and execution, based on strong insight on consumers, market, competitors and retail dynamics.

This is a full-time position based in our Global Headquarters office in Stockholm/Stadshagen where we are 65+ nationalities under the same roof and we’re quite happy with the look and feel of the office! 


• P&L responsibility for the product category in Business Area Europe
• Holding responsibility for range portfolio and commercial strategy definition in all clusters, together with cluster product line heads
• Defining European range model catalogue including target launch price,  unique  selling proposition, secondary benefits, in alignment with Product Marketing and Category Manager 
• Monitoring sales and profitability development for the category and proposing /agreeing with actions in order to reach annual business targets through the Commercial Triangle
• Reviewing of range performance and actions to improve, e.g. mix, price, and range renewal
• Preparing and executing market launches with clusters and Product Marketing (timing, ranging, pricing, distribution, marketing activities etc.) for new projects and range update for existing projects.
• Monitoring competitor activities and market trends in collaboration with commercial specialist 
• Strategic pricing for central standard range and review cluster together with cluster PL (Going Price, Net Sales, Transfer Price, Standard Cost)
• Supporting the developing and own the product category strategic market plan as part of the overall Product Line strategic market plan
• Driving of product life cycle in collaboration with ECM innovation– cradle to grave: opportunities, concepts, specs, profitability, phase-in/phase-out, and responsible for reducing complexity in strong collaboration with Category Manager Projects

• 7 - 10 years experience in commercial areas and/or marketing (ideally in more than one function), preferably in Consumer Durables
• You are currently working in an international and fast-moving environment 
• Ability to see the bigger picture and to ensure right prioritization 
• Previous exposure of working in a matrix organization, building strong and valid relationships with all the functions in the organization
• Experience to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
