POSITION TITLE:  Fabrication Technician 1

JOB CODE:              19-061

DEPARTMENT:      Finishing

REPORTS TO:         Supervisor

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operates a variety of heavy equipment and monitors processes to assure proper application of fabrication standards. Functions as a team member and contributes as much as possible to team projects. Uses judgement to check parts for imperfections. Performs troubleshooting processes and minor preventative maintenance on machines.
Must complete job specific training within 90 days or disqualification will result.

Minimum Qualification

QUALIFICATIONS AND BASIC SKILLS:
Steel toe shoes required at employee’s expense.
Able to bend, stoop, grip, reach and lift up to 40 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
Able to stand for the majority of the shift.
Able to read and write.

Job Specific Training Skills
600-Ton, 300-Ton and Small Automatic Press:
Start and Stop press
Load a coil of steel, adjust straightener, make steel alignment changes
Rake scrap without tripping the safety lights
Increase/decrease amount of lubrication being applied to the steel
Manual Press:
Start and stop press
“Tie in” die in press after a DieSetter locates the die in the press
“Un-tie” die and have it ready to be pulled out
Cooktop Line:
Start and stop press
Unbolt die and tie die in properly
Must demonstrate ability to keep up with line.
Weld Area:
Weld a door liner that meets acceptable standards
Weld an outer door panel that meets acceptable standards
