Preparation and execution of laboratory activities related to the evaluation of washing machines/ washer-dryers performance, with a special focus on the design and implementation of washing and drying cycles, supporting the development of new projects and ensuring the achievement of technical targets and compliance with appropriate standards. 

Qualification:
• Education: Master’s or bachelor's degree in Thermodynamic, Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• Experience: 3-5 years of experience as an R&D lab engineer
• English - Medium/Advanced with efficient communication skills, including recording and presenting test output
• Analytical thinking - Medium/Advanced
• Laboratory testing design and execution - Medium/Advanced with at least basic knowledge for statistical approach on testing methodologies
• Prototype Building - Basic
• IT skills – Basic/Medium software programming, knowledge in MatLab and LabView is a plus
• Positive thinking, Open-minded and Proactivity - Medium/Advanced

Objectives:
We are looking for a Lab Specialist for the Washing Technology Laboratory, to take part in the development of a new washing machine and washer-dryer products at a global level for the Fabric Care R&D organization. This individual, proactive and innovative by nature, with practical sense and operative attitude, will be in charge of the definition of the washing and drying cycles through performance testing at the product level. Test plan definition based on analytic problem analysis and the corresponding execution according to related deadlines, including the proper data recording to prepare test reports to document activities. Preferably, this person should have good knowledge of laboratory practice, and good overall electromechanical and thermodynamic knowledge

Competencies:
Highly organized and responsible with attitude for practical activity (assembly/disassembly of products/components, test setup preparation, test execution), with proactive and impartial approach willing to challenge the status quo; analytic and problem solving attitude, able to find practical solutions; laboratory testing practice, including use of instruments and SW tools; good thermodynamic knowledge and basic electro-technical or mechanical competences; data analysis and data mining experience; adaptable to the work environment and self-driven yet able to work according instructions; ability to work in cross-functional teams; willing to travel and good English written and oral is a must have 

Key operational responsibilities:
1. Understanding of standard and customized testing procedures, timelines and deliverables related to assigned activities.
2. Test plan definition according to the target component/system and expected results. Definition of novel test practices upon need.
3. Test execution on new components on dedicated test benches or on the application during all development stages, including setting up and testing preparation.
4. Data analysis, test report preparation and release.
5. Assembly and verification of prototypes of components, systems or appliances for lab testing.
6. Understanding of product technical specifications; support the introduction of new technologies in cooperation with the relevant departments.
7. Integration and coordination of inputs coming from other teams (e.g. Hydraulics, Mechanical, Software) to support appliance functionality development.
8. Demonstrate creative ability; exhibits appropriate professional behaviour including positive attitude, sense of urgency, independent judgment, teamwork, creative thinking and personal integrity to achieve department/corporate goals and objectives.
