Global Automation Leader (m/w/d) – Rothenburg o.d. Tauber

Global Manufacturing Engineering Food Preservation organization is looking for a motivated Automation leader to join our global team and be part of our company transformation.

Your mission is to create and develop the Global Automation Road Map for the next years and thus, deeply impact our manufacturing efficiency and product quality of cooling appliances. You will continuously improve quality and performance, monitor cost and optimize energy efficiency and overheads.
You will report to the Global Manufacturing Engineering Senior Director and work closely in a diverse team of Automation experts. Other important touchpoints are Global R&D, Advanced Development, Manufacturing Engineering and Quality departments.

A typical day at work

• Support the digital transformation by maintaining a global database on relevant process metrics included sensors needed, 3D layouts and simulations.
• Own and periodically update the related Process Optimization Books and Model factory and drive the factories towards their compliance.
• Create and maintain global specifications for main equipment and processes.
• Research, validate and recommend new technologies and methods for foaming and thermoforming including methods to maximize energy efficiency and ready to automation.
• Planning and optimization of new equipment, and co-operate with the Capex team to ensure the purchase of the right equipment, as well as standardize the equipment.
• Maintain the global process forum and facilitate best practice sharing and problem solving; evaluate fitness for automation
• Standardize robust automation solution across all sectors
• Continuously drive automation level / progress in each sector

Education & experience:

• Technical degree
• Around 10 years of experience in Manufacturing engineering
• Business fluent English skills
• Ability to travel internationally 30% of the time
