Global ME Packaging and Logistic Automation Leader

Within the Global Manufacturing Engineering – Automation unit, you will drive the definition and Standarization of the Automated Processes in both Packaging (supporting the groups transition to a sustainable packaging) as Internal Logistics of components (through the application of AVGs),  coordinating project leaders for packaging and logistic automation within all Business Areas.

A REGULAR DAY AT WORK

Based in Italy (Porcia or Susegana) or in Germany (Rothenburg), you will report to the Global ME Director Automation and Home Comfort. 

You will have as main interfaces in the organization: The Global ME Automation team members (Advanced Automation, Standardization, Automation Program), Business Area (BA) Managers and Automation Leaders, R&D leaders, Suppliers, Global CAPEX team, Material Handling and Planning Team.

You will be responsible for:

•  Benchmarking, Defining and Standardizing the automation process for the products packaging, under deep review to find more sustainable solutions. 
•  Identifying packaging automation suppliers in coordination with Business Areas
•  Supporting on Design for Automation activities on the redesigned packaging solutions so they are automatable.
•  Coordinating globally the efforts and investments required on equipment and automation on our journey to a more sustainable packaging.
•  Being the global reference for Logistic Automation, with focus on internal transport of components in current and new factories within Global Manufacturing Engineering and with other departments
•  Investigating, Defining and Standardizing of Logistic Automation Technologies with focus on AGVs and automatic Warehouses as well as any other advanced logistic automation technologies (including hardware and software solutions)
•  Driving the Logistic Automation Assessments - (AGVs, automatic Warehouses…), on plants and projects, in coordination to BA leaders, and defining and adapting the process of these assessments.
•  Managing the Global Logistic Automation and New Packaging Automation Activities, consolidating on periodical reports the latest implementations based on our automation road-map.
•  Promoting and facilitating the best practices sharing of latest packaging and logistic automation projects (standards, technologies, concepts for layout and logistic processes) among all organizational interfaces in ME (Global, PL, BA, plant)
•  Supporting on Design for Logistic Automation guidelines for material and packaging
•  Contributing to the automation targets (Savings and Automation Level) by tracking and driving the logistic and packaging automation activities within the Business Areas
•  Interacting with logistic suppliers to drive standards for supplier and technologies
•  Cooperating with purchasing to define global agreements and project bundles

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

•  Engineering University degree (Bachelor or Master) with 3 to 5 years professional experience in industrial (logistic) automation and project management
•  Proven experience on Industrial Automation and Logistic Projects in manufacturing industry and similar
•  Strong technical and management skills within inter-cultural organization
•  High experience on logistic technologies as well as logistic planning and concept development, respectively material handling and planning
•  Ability to work in multicultural teams, open and innovative mindset 
•  Goal-oriented, persevering, focused on quality and meeting deadlines
•  Available to travel internationally
