Global Purchasing Director

Global Purchasing Director Advance Technologies and Electronic Components will be responsible for the Global budgets, building and deploying a category strategy and a globally competitive supply base for the Advance Technologies and Electronic Components category.  Through the use of Electrolux Major Appliances (EMA) Global Purchasing Process (GPP), the Purchasing Director will drive activities that deliver on assigned end to end supply base simplification and productivity goals as well as process KPIs.  In addition to delivering on necessary goals, the Purchasing Director will act as a central point of contact for assigned suppliers. The responsibilities will include new business awards, business shifts, general communication/account management, coordinating and driving supplier cross qualification, development and execution of global or regional negotiations, end to end supply base simplification, supplier accountability (measured to Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Technology targets)., and leading activities and grant a succesfull development phase of the plans in Electrolux Major Appliances, leading the relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Must demonstrate extensive commodity/category management experience, sourcing knowledge (both foreign and domestic) and expertise
•Demonstrated ability to develop and retain strong supplier relationships global and domestic
•Develop annual budgets and results tracking as well as maintain 5 year strategic plan
•Establish cross-functional teams to develop, plan and execute a commodity strategy that ensures a competitive landscape, sustainable supply, and globally competitive pricing
•Develop and drive the supplier strategy to support qualification of new parts/materials and cross qualify new supply sources
•Generate initiatives and projects to deliver on the required productivity targets
•Establish strategic competitive supply chains based on total cost of ownership with consideration of globally competitive cost structures
•Ensure EMA launches new materials and components that are consistently priced with materials and components that are in production (consistent conversion costs, raw material costs, etc.)
•Engage with cross functional and global stakeholders to build trust, rapport and collaborative partnerships
•Proven track record of management and professional agility to serve and lead key projects and initiatives as opportunities arise
•Standardize the cost structure EMA pays for materials and components across the Enterprise by ensuring the materials and components are globally competitive
•Provide indirect and collaborative leadership to the site purchasing teams to ensure on-time project execution & implementation of the strategy as a business partner
• Conduct supplier accountability meetings by evaluating them with respect to Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Technology targets
•Manage project timelines and values to support the overall  goals for the purchasing organization
•Responsible and accountable for achievement of targets as defined by management and KPI’s
•Develop/Facilitate relationships with suppliers to understand and stay abreast of industry changes which may impact various business management programs as it relates to pricing / technical trends
•Support day to day Material, Quality and Account Payable activities
•Responsible for managing category spend at multiple factory locations
•On-going evaluation of component costs vs. changes in the market (component costs, design changes, supply base footprint changes, etc.)
•Lead weekly connectivity calls with purchasing organisations in all EMA manufacturing facilities to drive cost-outs, supplier initiatives, pricing updates, Supply chain simplification, and alignment with the strategy
•Ability to understand, communicate and enforce EMA policy as it pertains to supplier and internal issues
•Experience and understanding of cost modeling and TCO

Among the different areas of responsibilities s/he will:
•lead the category teams
•create an environment where the whole Purchasing team is increasing its know how and competences
•develop & leverage good relationships with key peers (Purchasing, Quality, Product Line, R&D, Manufacturing engineering, Operations).
•develop and drive the best sourcing strategy for his global category
•ensure through Value-Based Sourcing the best quality , capacity , flexibility and cost solution achieved
•foster innovation input from suppliers and promote it into Electrolux organization .

All this while keeping Electrolux values and priorities in check.

Reporting to:  Purchasing Vice President, Global Electrical & Electronics

Competencies needed
•BS degree (or higher) in Electronics (ideally) or Engineering or equivalent through experience (MBA is an advantage). Specialties can range from economics, technical studies, social studies, etc. 
•10+  years of relevant experience in purchasing in a multinational environment
•Experience in adjacent disciplines like quality, logistics, manufacturing, research and development are also welcomed
•10+ years’ experience in purchasing/procurement of various Advance Technologies and Electronic Components
•Demonstrated leader skills and experience with complex program management.
•Demonstrated command of complex sourcing, negotiating, and commodity strategies
•Self-starter who can work effectively with minimal supervision
•Ability to think and operate on a strategic level
•Ability to work  in a dynamic, multicultural environment 
•25% - 50% domestic and international travel is required
