As Head of Design for our Business sector Home Care & SDA, your mission is to lead Consumer Experience driven business through the design of Products, Accessories, Consumables and Services. You will be driving the global portfolio and you will be an integrated business partner and member to the Home Care management team. The  overall strategic objective is to deliver best in class Branded Consumer Experiences within the area of Wellbeing. 

The design team gives our brands their unique personality through Brand Design DNA framework and Human Touch, our people centric, research based & iterative approach. We have a strategic approach to design and value strong creative facilitation and domain leadership. 

The integrated global Home Care & Small Domestic Appliance Design team work collaboratively & tightly, you will have direct reports in Stockholm and Shanghai and manage a total team of around 35  people including Industrial Design, Colour Material and Finishing, Digital Experience & UX Research. You will also be part of our global Design leadership team and collaboratively work to achieve Design Excellence. You will represent Design at our Sector Leadership when relevant.

Typical day:
• Lead the design strategy and develop the design roadmap per product line and brand using collaborative methods and tools.
• Drive the creation of new value propositions as part of our Innovation Triangle and support implementation into defined roadmaps. 
• Drive business, market and consumer insight leveraging contextual trend foresight into a creative synthesis validating meaningful scenarios or concepts. 
• Orchestrate together with other functional experts, the translation and articulation of the value proposition into the creative direction and articulate the Brand Experience. 
• Use appropriate and effective people leader capabilities to plan the resource allocation. 
• Lead the budget process and own the overall business control.
• Use appropriate and effective visual design skills to articulate brand values across the product lines. 
• Make appropriate use of consumer and expert feedback and increasing customer preference.
• Turn technical opportunities and constraints into realized solutions. Apply appropriate production technology, materials and fit to reach the best solution. 
• Create and nurture surprising and relevant solutions that challenge the norm of engineering.
• Support functional initiatives to make sure Design continuously improves and increases efficiency. Work collaboratively to build one culture with common methods and tools.
• Support the ambition to act and design for sustainability with the overall purpose to shape living for the better.

Education & experience
• Bachelor or Masters of Design in relevant field like Industrial Design, Product Design, Experience Design or Strategic Design.
• Minimum around 10 - 15 years' relevant experience in a highly international, multicultural and complex organisation across different business domains.
