Develop control algorithms for domestic refrigerators following model based design approach. Electrolux-NA is a high volume manufacture of domestic and international refrigerators, consisting of Top mount, Side by Side, Bottom Mount, Freezers and some commercial applications.


  • Develop control algorithms for domestic refrigerators following model based design approach (Model in Loop, Rapid Control Prototyping and Automatic Code Generation).
  • Integrate refrigeration system components directed by the global technology domain team into North American product.
  • Support test execution and all validation phases.
  • Create all necessary documentation, testing and approval guidelines.
  • Support the development of the technology road map for algorithm development.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing algorithms/products.
  • Initiate and develop ideas that result in system performance improvements.
  • Acquire and process test data, analyze the results and provide useful engineering interpretations.
  • Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems. Interface with vendors and other departments.
  • Contribute to a cross-functional team as required to support the development of feature projects.


Minimum Qualification


  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Mechatronics Engineering, Control Engineering, Software Engineering or related field of study with minimum of 4 years of experience or Master’s degree
  • Strong knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Strong knowledge of control theory.
  • Understanding of good programming practices.
  • Experience with common sensors and instrumentation such as encoders, digital oscilloscopes, accelerometers, strain gauges, pressure transducers, thermocouples and other sensor technologies.
  • Experience with real-time data acquisition and instrument control.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office package.
  • Knowledge in VBA programming.
  • Highly motivated individual that has a strong drive for results; communicates effectively both in written and verbal communication formats, holds people accountable for goal attainment and coordinates all project actions and design details to deliver on team and project commitments.


  • Experience in C/C++ programming.
  • Experience with laboratory experimental analysis.
  • Experience with data analysis and simulation.
  • Experience with refrigeration systems, consumer goods, and/or appliance industry.
  • Related international experience a plus (Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific).
  • Creative, personally committed, resourceful problem solver capable of leading a project from inception through project implementation.
