IoT Quality Assurance Head – Open Location

According to Gartner, the number of connected things included in the Internet of Things (IoT) will grow to 25 billion units and will generate $263 billion in revenue by 2020. With so much potentially riding on IoT as the next big tech wave, it’s important that we not only understand what IoT is and does, but also how we might arrive at the seamless integration of connected devices that everyone expects.
The Internet of Things is made up of three core components: things, communications and computing. Our focus at Electrolux is mainly about connecting Home Appliances within a Smart Home ecosystem. In order for IoT to work, all things within a home need to be able to communicate with each other. 


The Quality Assurance and testing in IoT can be split into two subdivisions: 
-               the first is how the hardware (our Products) and software interact
-               the second is how the products and the consumers interact. 
As IoT QA Head you have to create a QA environment that can take into account complex relationships among different company functions in order to drive the QA delivery process and continuous improvement: Program Management Office, Global Connectivity Architecture, Global Connectivity Development, IT departments, Global Operations, R&D and Human Resources.
You should work closely with Product Management teams in order that the design of new connected products occurs according to specified requirements and in line with the test strategy.

You will be accountable for
• Verification and approval of all platform components for production release
• Operation and maintenance of platform monitoring system
• Continuous improvement of processes for development and test
• You will be heading 3 different Teams in the following areas:

SW Quality Assurance and Control

Quality Assurance will
Support definition of requirements and their traceability
Functional and non-functional requirements
User Stories
Support Development Teams in 
Static code analysis
Unit Tests
Integration Tests
Peer reviews
Run of periodical internal Audits

SW quality control will
Define Test plans
Execute Test plans
Support Field Trials execution
Management of release

Site Reliability Engineering
Monitor systems availability
Run system maintenance
Release performance reports to support quality KPI

Continuous Improvement

Drive ongoing effort and activities to improve products, services, processes for the entire IoT ecosystem.  
Define and measure quality KPIs
Share best practices across Teams

Your contribution will be fundamental to:
• Define quality standardization and QA principles, setting up adequate auditing, monitoring and enabling delivery teams to run efficient QA during product delivery
• Embed quality into team principles, and consults members across all involved teams on all needed aspects of quality management and quality assurance.
• Establish a QA excellence framework required to deliver products and strategic programs.
• Drive test automation across all levels.
• Best practices in process and tool usage to improve efficiency and effectiveness across all Teams
• Alignment of activities and objectives across all Functions
• Leverage data and analytics for continuous improvements
• Engage with internal functions to align on cross-functional improvement initiatives and strategies
• Establishes a culture of high quality standards and appetite for continuous improvements, which values defect prevention over defect correction.

• Proven working experience in definition of Quality strategy and QA processes in IT industry.
• Experience in IoT Development or Software Engineering is an important additional asset.
• Good understanding of IoT technologies and standards – preferably in cloud, mobile applications and connectivity systems (WiFI, BLE, NB).
• Excellent communication skills to work in an international environment split over different locations and manage stakeholders across the organization.
• At least 5 years professional work experience in Quality assurance and Management roles in a mid - large Corporation.
•Technical degree level in Engineering or Computer Science
• Experience in agile development/SCRUM and continuous delivery processes
