IT Support Specialist - 3rd shift

The IT Technician serves as the first point of contact for all IT related issues on the Peregrine shop floor on the shift to which they are assigned.  This position is responsible for the ensuring high availability (24/7) of production critical IT systems including label printers & software, MES dashboards and operator monitors, and initial problem solving for MES/PLC interactions.  


  • Support critical manufacturing systems
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of all applications supporting the shop floor including MES, interfaces and label printing necessary to ensure high availability 24/7
  • Provide initial troubleshooting and initiate 2nd level support when necessary
  • Document technical support actions in troubleshooting knowledge base
  • Comply with service level agreements for ticket resolution
  • Support production critical hardware
  • Label printers
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Clear jams, media errors, etc.
  • Calibrate or replace printers as needed
  • 1st level repairs and initiate maintenance contact as needed
  • MES devices
  • Complete observational walks at least twice per shift to identify and correct any malfunctioning equipment
  • Provide support to project and development teams in the configuration, installation and validation of new solutions or updates to existing production critical systems
  • Strong technical and communications skills are necessary
  • Provide overtime coverage on a rotating basis
  • Perform other job duties as assigned
  • Install and maintain Apriso TV dashboards
  • Install and maintain Apriso operator monitors
  • Maintain monthly security updates on all Window OS devices on Peregrine shop floor

Minimum Qualification


  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing factory environment
  • 3+ years of experience managing and configuring and configuring software and hardware (PCs, printers, scanners, etc) on Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Availability to work rotating shifts and weekends as needed


  • Knowledge of Windows OS, PC hardware, monitors and TVs
  • Knowledge of industrial printers, barcode and RFID readers, PLCs, HMIs, etc.
  • Proven ability to quickly solve technical problems via troubleshooting methodology
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross functional teams including process technicians and operations leadership
  • Ability to communicate problems and solutions both verbally and in writing to customers and management
  • Ability to work closely with others in a team environment
  • Availability to work on different shifts as needed
