Maintenance Engineer – Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany

As Maintenance Engineer you will drive and manage projects and the project teams in an international environment.
You will be responsible for Cost Out and Quality Improvement activities related to Steam Technology systems, products and/or components, based on challenging targets of cost reduction and quality improvement, and timing. You will also autonomously identify, initiate and deliver activities necessary to begin new programs and follow them through production release, in collaboration with product platform teams, effectively interfacing with suppliers and internal customers.
As a necessary complement, you will be responsible to monitor quality indexes trends for all component families, identifying promptly issues arising from the field, and setting up necessary recovery actions.

You will
• Develop, manage and deploy Cost Out and Quality Improvement activities portfolio for Steam Technology components (STO reference for Product Care dept).
• Monitor Quality data and dashboard generation (QES database).
• Workflow processes (Team Center) handling for new and revised components.
• Global Component Specs, Global Test Manuals creation, maintenance and management.
• Act independently, in charge of activities duration estimation and monitoring, cost engineering and monitoring, aiming to reach given time/cost/quality targets; understand and duly apply company product development process.
• Demonstrate creative ability through invention or other significant contributions to the profession; support creation and development of Steam Technology Road Map.
• Apply expert knowledge of applicable technology and industry/company standards to investigate new Steam applications, methods and test procedures.
• Exhibit appropriate professional behaviour including positive attitude, sense of urgency, independent judgment, teamwork, creative thinking and personal integrity to achieve department/corporate goals and objectives.
• Work with outside consultants, suppliers and contract manufacturers to develop and manufacture electronic components and assemblies. 
• Work closely with manufacturing to ensure the smooth transition of new designs into the production process including support past pilot run and into full manufacturing ramp up.

• Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Min. 2 yrs of professional mechanical design experience and/or project management (appliance industry is a plus).
• 3D CAD skills (Catia Knowledge is a plus).
• PLM skills (TeamCenter knowledge is a plus).
• Attitude to technical matters.
• Activity management skills.
• Fluent English mandatory.
• Willingness to travel.
