The role, within the NA Master Data Team, ensures that the Master Data Governance is properly implemented by leveraging best practices, connecting processes, supporting our process partners, and driving change. This position is the key Material Master domain owner as related to Master Data integrity, governance, and maintenance, in a SAP solution based environment.


  • Supports and maintains global and local material master data management solutions that enable users to optimize SAP system capabilities.
  • Uses knowledge of end-to-end data processes to analyze, cleanse, and enrich master data elements, and ensure that data flows efficiently and consistently between users and stakeholders.
  • Provides data consulting in support of various business and information technology initiatives and solutions.
  • Work closely with Business Data Stewards to facilitate Master Data Governance system requirements.
  • Interface with business leaders, process stakeholders and data owners to identify, interpret, and document data process requirements and tasks updates in timely manner.
  • Executes knowledge transfer to stakeholders and business partners.
  • Troubleshoots issues related to material master data management and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement of data management processes.
  • Participate in testing cycles for master data impacted system upgrades or process enhancements.

Minimum Qualification


  • Strong material master data management experience in a complex SAP environment.
  • A strong focus on data maintenance and adherence to master data governance, stakeholder communication, and problem solving.
  • Broad knowledge across a range of SAP functional areas such as Finance, Sales, Logistics, Warehouse Management.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related area (e.g., Technology, Business, Finance).
  • Strong experience of SAP Material Master data management activities in a complex and large SAP environment.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP business processes (OTC, PTP, RTR, etc.).
  • Functional data experience in SAP ECC, MDG and related modules (e.g., APO, WM/EWM, CRM).
  • Strong analytical and project solving skills.
  • Development and understanding of key Material Master Data quality measures (KPI’s).
  • Identification of Material Master Data risks and mitigations. 
  • Strong understanding of how Material Master Data is used for reporting and transactional activities.
  • Strong understanding of Data Governance practices, support, implementation, and methods to achieve/maintain SAP according to its rules and structures.
  • Working knowledge of SAP MASS Maintenance solutions (MASS Transactions, LSMW, etc.).
  • 2+ years working with SAP Master Data Solutions (ECC or MDG).
  • 2+ years working in Material Master Data Management domain.
