A Microwave Technology Engineer in the Microwave Technology Organisation is responsible for the organization, planning and execution of microwave module/product projects from marketing concept to production as they relate to the introduction of microwave technology. This process involves the translation of consumer needs into technical specifications; working directly with engineers and technicians of various disciplines to build and test product samples; solve technical problems; and working with key suppliers to define and release purchased assemblies and estimating resources including time and investment to deliver upon commitments.



•Developing product/module technical specifications based on a variety of requirement inputs including consumer, marketing and industrial design from prototype stage into full mass production.

•Preparing test and validation plans.

•Developing detailed engineering documentation, Engineering Change Notices/Requests and manufacturing procedures.

•Creating, maintaining and controlling project schedules where applicable         

•Estimating product costs, at minimum of the system under development

•May supervise and mentor other engineers, technicians or interns as required on a project or task basis and is involved in knowledge transfer within the organization or to relevant staff.

•Working with internal or external consultants, suppliers and manufacturers to develop and manufacture electronic, electrical or mechanical components and assemblies.

•Working closely with manufacturing to ensure the smooth transition of new designs into the production process including support past pilot run and into full manufacturing ramp up.



•Proven competency and understanding as it relates to microwave technology, especially in relation to microwave feeding/distribution, transmission and containment; developing microwave systems using magnetron tube technology and semiconductor technology.

•Experience with specifying and evaluating electrical, electronic and electro-mechanical components in relation to microwave technology.          

•Preferably proven experience developing consumer goods/home appliances employing microwave technology; alternatively experience with industrial microwave technology applications.     

•Strong structured engineering approach and practical problem solving skills with a strong sense of applied engineering both mechanical and electrical.

•Required languages: Fluent English written and spoken, German is considered as a plus.
