Model Shop Engineer

Leading preparation and execution of activities related to prototype management for Fabric Care and Dish Care during the different phases of development process, with special emphasis on maximizing the efficiency of the Model Shop operation.   

Key operational responsibilities
1. Ensure the operational forecasting is in line with order parameters and available capabilities.  
2. Control availability of material needed to build prototypes according to requests and minimizing waste. 
3. Planning, execution and validation of R&D prototypes.
4. Support definition and deployment of Model shop procedures and best practices.
5. Development of tools to continuously improve Model shop activities.  
6. Collaborate with project leaders and GTD groups on prototype definition and execution. 
7. Control of prototypes status.

- Ensure prototype availability according R&D project development plan.
- Support FC & DC R&D organization to move forward with test plan execution.
- Generate improvement and innovation proposals
- Analyze and report issues.
- Ensure application of best practices 
- Handle manual activities related to prototype preparation including quality verification. 
- Create a network with that supports prototype built (i.e. Purchasing, suppliers, technical experts, etc.)

• Electronic or Electro technical degree. 
• 3-5 years of experience in Manufacturing and/or R&D environment.
• Discrete computer skills.
• Knowledge about CAE, 3D Design (Catia preferred), product bill of materials and logistics procedures.
• Knowledge on main manufacturing processes (i.e. metal forming, injection molding, die casting) and assembling
• Ability to act as a coach.
• Common-sense approach to objective decision making based on clear analysis of info available.
• Project Management knowledge and Design for Assembling and Manufacturing are a plus
• Strong analytical thinking and practical problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills, able to establish and maintain relationships based on trust
• Open-minded
• Highly organized and responsible with proven ability to work on a tactical and operational level getting things done
