Network Connectivity Engineer – Porcia, Italy

You will be joining the Global Connectivity & Technology team in Porcia (Italy). We are a team of highly qualified engineers with strong industry knowledge, supporting the development of new platforms and services globally and across categories. As Network Engineer you will participate in supporting of network functions, demonstrating a predisposition to collaborate with several internal technology groups and consultants that operate within Product Development R&D, the Information Services Department (IT), APP development, Marketing and EGD; aiming with time at becoming a collector of the different entities to promote a connectivity standard vision in the company.
Moreover, you will support the participation to Connectivity Interoperability Initiatives (Allseen, OCF…) to promote company vision, facilitate the introduction of these technologies within the company and keep networking company vision up-to-date.  
Your role is also at the operational level: that is to design firmware for innovative embedded systems for connected consumer appliances with significant security requirements. You will be assigned to develop new products/modules/systems and improve currently used technologies and methods. 

You will:
• Support to Smart Appliance Data Model design: specification (shared/common among different products, specific for product features) to promote a connectivity standard vision in the company; 
• Support to Validation/Definition of high-level design of SW architecture of connectivity SW/FW for connectivity Node inside the appliance and/or UI connectivity part interacting with NIU;
• Contribution to investigation and validation of new connectivity technology application to support Demo (exploration of new functionalities under the heading of marketing)
• Participation in Connectivity Interoperability Initiatives
• Develop firmware for microcontroller and Linux embedded based systems 
• Debug and test 
• Take care of documentation

• Master Degree in Electronic Engineering or Computer Science.
• 1-3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Good Knowledge of C language programming for 8/32 bit microcontrollers (NXP – STM – ATMEL/Microchip – ARM Cortex). 
• Knowledge and experience in computer networks, internetworking and TCP/IP protocols is a plus.
• Knowledge of cloud integration and testing is a plus.
• Knowledge and experience on communication technologies (WiFi, BT, ZigBee..) is a plus.
• Knowledge in desktop or embedded Linux is a plus.
• Knowledge of software and networking security is a plus.
• Knowledge of C++ language programming is a plus.
• Experience as a firmware developer is a plus.
• Solid English is considered mandatory for this role.
