Process Engineer (Foaming)
This is a corporate level position based at one of our manufacturing sites responsible for engineering activities to improve the manufacturing process in the areas of safety, efficiency, quality and cost. Services are provided in the area of Process Improvement Engineering (lean manufacturing processes), to ensure productivity levels are obtained and sustainable. The position will have comprehensive responsibilities for effective execution of Foam and other Insulation related projects; Supplier Developments, New Formulations / Blowing Agents, Regulatory requirements, Foaming Process & Design improvements, Raw Materials Strategies, Cost reductions, Quality improvements, as well as New Product Introduction. Performs other miscellaneous assignments, as directed, to support facility, manufacturing and engineering functions.

Key Operational Responsibilities
- Responsible for project delivery related to Foam / Insulation on the different Refrigeration platforms and will work closely with other functions to deliver objectives
Provide support on new product launches, platform projects and new materials technology developments
Provide leadership to implement and execute the Foam Insulation strategies. Lead projects from the development stage through implementation at North American refrigeration manufacturing locations
Deliver foaming process improvements projects from an insulation performance, cost effectiveness and quality standpoint. Propose design improvements / guidelines to the Engineering groups in order to optimize foam insulation performance
Support manufacturing on foaming equipment and suppliers selection, troubleshooting and develop an understanding of new / state of the art foam technologies.
Understand current and future environmental regulations affecting the foam insulation / blowing agents space
Work directly with manufacturing in a team environment for problem solving, buy-in and support of new processes.
Implement and promote lean manufacturing principles; 5 S’s discipline, Poka Yoke design, KAIZEN, KANBAN, TPM, DFP, QUALITY CIRCLES, DMAIC, SMED and other initiatives, to continuously improve upon our own records
Work with manufacturing on continuous improvement for all manufacturing processes related to foaming / insulation
- Project management
BS degree in engineering required; preferably in materials or chemical engineering
5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of foaming processes, critical parameters, technologies and equipment
Thorough knowledge of materials testing procedures, specifications and engineering procedures.
Hands on experience in multiple aspects of the foaming process, mechanical components and operation, tooling design, material handling and quality systems.
Lean manufacturing experience is required. Additional exposure to TPM and Six Sigma preferred
Experience in a diverse and matrixed environment.
Computer literate including AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint & Project

Experience in follow up for several projects at same time and a track record of successfully completing projects on time.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints and procedure manuals
Able to work cross functionally to gain cooperation and efforts needed to deliver project on time and on cost targets.
Schedule project timelines and follow through on all phases including cost, quality, and deliver.
