SUMMARY:

The consumer experience and OEM support engineer is responsible for the consumer experience validation through field testing and OEM support for pass through products. The main objectives are:

  • Manage the field testing process from end-to-end in order to obtain comprehensive and accurate feedback for consumer experience and drive continuous improvements
  • Support product quality improvement activities for pass through product from OEM suppliers

The individual in role will strive to ensure the Consumer Unit Field Test (CUFT) plan is executed as defined. Additional responsibilities will include support to product quality improvement activities for our OEM sourced product

KEY OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

CONSUMER EXPERIENCE MANAGEMENT (70%):

  • Execute the plan of field testing for new products across all product lines. The plan shall include transactions with the producing entity to get the product delivered at agreed storage points, coordination with the installers, distribution and record keeping of CUFT agreements/findings/solutions/retrieval, number of units, installation
  • Coordinate with cross functional teams to define test parameters and requirements to maximize consumer feedback
  • Identify methods to increase discriminating criteria to increase testing rigor.
  • Follow up to with consumer through installation and testing to gather all inclusive & timely feedback.
  • Performs analysis and report-out on field test data to uncover valuable insights to product performance, quality, and consumer perception
  • Continue to monitor consumer ratings and reviews for current product and utilize the learnings to enhance testing process for new product
  • Visit Local field test locations to review field issues with R&D and local EBS Service Technicians

OEM PRODUCT SUPPORT (30%):

  • Work with Global Supplier Organization (GSO) to analyze issues and trends using internal product quality data tools including identification of risks and assessing impact(s)
  • Work with GSO team to drive corrective actions with OEM suppliers to completion, and measure/monitor follow up actions for effectiveness
  • Review product validation test protocols and work with internal R&D teams to strengthen OEM quality and reliability processes
  • Continuously act to improve product quality metrics and maintain a quality mindset
  • Contribute to definition of common rules and methodologies that improve quality
  • Evaluate product Engineering Change Requests and manage to closure
  • Work with cross functional teams to ensure product quality and performance meet expectations of our end customers and consumers

Minimum Qualification

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance, product development & testing, manufacturing or equivalent
  • Database development, Record keeping, Statistics
  • Experience with APQP, PPAPs, 8D root cause analysis, P/DFMEAs and similar tools
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse team environment across a matrix organization
  • Proven analytical skills; data-driven and detail-oriented,
  • Ability to partner with cross-functional teams, Ability to influence
  • Self-starter, strong Continuous Improvement mindset, Very customer focused
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2000, QS 9000, and/or TS-16949 quality systems is a plus
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills and abilities. Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Highly organized; capable of multitasking across multiple projects, Effective time management skills
  • A passion for analyzing data and making business conclusions and recommendations
  • Interacts well with all levels of the organization
