Quality Technician (Supplier Quality)- 1st Shift- Springfield TN (T)
The Quality Technician will maintain the quality of supplier components at the assembly lines and at incoming inspection. The technician will be able to identify problems and document them through a Supplier Material Rejection Report (SMRR). Work in conjunction with Materials, Manufacturing and Engineering to understand material flow, assembly, and design intent of components. Must be able to read blueprints and use metrology equipment to determine non-conforming product and scrap to vendor if needed. Develop visual instructions and track metrics and goals on quality indicators, such as First Time Quality, Rolled Throughput Yield, Scrap, First Part Approvals and Service Call Rate. Utilizes fact-based methods to assess appropriate risk in decision making.
QUALIFICATIONS AND BASIC
2 Year Associates/Technician Degree and High School Diploma or GED and the equivalent work experience.
Three (3) years responsibility for Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment.
ASQ certifications, which include CQT and CQE experience preferred
Knowledge and experience in applying statistical process control.
Competency with Microsoft Office software.
Problem-solving skills with root cause analysis methodologies.
One (1) year experience supervising people.
Communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing.
Able to stand or sit for the majority of the shift.
Metrology equipment knowledge and proficiency.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
