R&D Category Director BI Hobs – Open locations (Forlí or Rothenburg ob der Tauber)

The R&D functions play an instrumental role in Electrolux strategy, with consumer experience driven innovation, modularization and connected products.

As Category Director you will drive the execution of all development activities and projects from specification and verification of a product concept to industrialization, approval, production ramp-up and market launch, developing and managing the project plans and project evaluation.

You will join and lead an international team in a multicultural and fast environment.

You will

• Participate in all project specs definition.
• Drive all projects portfolio definition and delivery.
• Support concept development activities within PCP.
• Ensure final approval to all new product introduction.
• Ensure final approval to all Engineering changes.
• Ensure project accomplishment within specifications.
• Ensure compliance with both internal and external safety standards.
• Ensure product approval.
• Drive complexity reduction.
• Guarantee cross-platform standardization.
• Guarantee platforming.
• Participate in defining Advanced product development priorities.
• Responsible for competences development and allocation.
• Evaluate all projects completed, both from internal process and procedures and from field test results.
• Lead a professional team located in several European countries.
• Budget and personal responsibility for the assigned team.
• Communicates and shares the vision and the strategy and the subsequent decisions to own team.
• Drive initiative for the people professional growth and information on standard method understanding.
• Lead the introduction of common new procedures and/or processes.
• Drive initiatives for the standardization of the laboratory processes worldwide, to inform and training people.


• Mechanical or electronic engineering degree.
• Consolidated experience in both product development and the introduction of new technologies.
• Components and products approval processes, procedures, and standards of knowledge.
• Ability and experience in managing international teams.
• Cooking product knowledge.
• Innovation focus.
• Strong Consumer insight orientation.
• Fluency in English. Other languages are a benefit.
