As an integral member of the CX Care Technologies, Electrical Electronics Team, located in Charlotte – North Carolina, the Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for the research, design, development, and maintenance activities related to electrical components for home appliances.  The electrical components include but are not limited to drain pumps, recirculation pumps, inlet valves, water level sensors, turbidity sensors, temperature sensors, thermostats, thermal limiters, door locks, electrical motors, power cords, wiring harness, printed circuit boards (PCB), and heating elements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates effectively across interdisciplinary engineering teams to ensure timeline adherence of the overall project and supporting tasks.
  • Use of internal and external resources & facilities to ensure the function, reliability, and safety of electrical parts used for home appliances.
  • Testing and validating electrical components operating in the system.
  • Recommending design modifications to eliminate the risk of malfunctions.
  • Recommending changes to optimize system performance.
  • Assures design quality by executing, analyzing, collecting, and summarizing technical activities related to testing of electrical components on finished products or system validation.
  • Support the development of printed circuit board assembly processes, suggesting design improvements, modification of functional validation testing (FVT) procedures, and any other improvements for the printed circuit board assembly processes.
  • Work with Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, and Validation/Application Laboratories interactively to develop and test electrical solutions as per project requirements.

Minimum Qualification

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • BS/MS degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years in the R&D department of household appliance or consumer electronics industry.
  • Experience with the process of manufacturing printed circuit boards.
  • Experience with Six Sigma methodology applicable to product engineering (DOE planning, statistical tools, sample planning, etc.).
  • Knowledge and experience with the design and process assembly of printed circuit boards.
  • Project leading skills: planning, follow-up, escalation, and delivery on time.
  • Ability to lead and execute DFMEA.
  • Occasional travel required.
