Technical Training Lead

The Technical Training Lead reports to the site Manager, Manufacturing Learning and owns the full technical training curriculum. This person will also assess the competencies required to maintain an advanced manufacturing plant and ensures that technical staff are skilled in those competencies. This position will also serve as the Learning Center of Excellence liaison to the technical and engineering functions of the organization.
- Collaborating with plant Maintenance & Engineering and Global Maintenance & Reliability teams, define core competencies for maintenance technicians, process technicians, automation technicians, and other technical roles.
- Establish and maintain a curriculum of technical training.
- Develop criteria for skill mastery, for levels 1 through 3.
- Partnering with stakeholder groups, develop, implement, and own skill assessment process and establishing annual technical training calendar.
- Schedule training courses and assign trainers.
- Track and report progress in technical skill development. Report return on investment for technical training programs.
- Create and manage training & certification process for technical trainers, both full-time and subject matter experts.
- With input from technical trainers, specify technical training equipment and manage the purchasing process (order through installation). Oversee the purchase of off-the-shelf technical curriculum (including eLearning) and technical training supplies.
- Investigate new technologies and lead the technical training team in developing courses/curriculum.
- Develop and oversee training programs for maintenance and engineering management.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Associates degree or technical certificate in applied technology, mechatronics, industrial/electrical maintenance, or related field.
- Minimum three years’ maintenance and/or engineering experience in a highly automated manufacturing environment.
- Minimum three years’ experience training others in technical competencies.
- Prior supervision experience is preferred .
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician and/or Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional credential is a differentiator.
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including but not limited to electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, servo and motor controls, and sealant and adhesive application systems, and Power Distribution Panels (PDPs).
- Comprehensive knowledge of advanced manufacturing and engineering systems including but not limited to automated process control, robotics, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) panels.
- Advanced troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Knowledge of maintenance and reliability subjects.
