The Vice President of Manufacturing will provide leadership to Electrolux’s North American manufacturing operations which include four production facilities located in the United States. This is a highly competitive environment that serves the exacting and demanding retail channel and one that requires outstanding service and performance.  You will also be responsible for sponsorship of all major project activity for manufacturing operations in the United States.    

You will be a true leader of people, fostering collaboration and team building while modeling the organization’s core competences.  You will work cross functionally with other senior leaders in the ongoing development and continuous improvement of a best-in-class manufacturing organization.   

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define and drive strategic goals and objectives to ensure business, operational and financial objectives are achieved across U.S. manufacturing operations.
  • Develop a clear vision with sharply focused strategies that will ensure manufacturing operations remain ahead of the competitive curve.
  • Directs all aspects of manufacturing to include integration of existing and/or new products and processes into the manufacturing operation.
  • Analyze and recommend manufacturing strategies related to current or new products and services which favorably impact the overall cost of goods sold and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Develop short and long-term strategies to improve processes by eliminating non-value-added activities, reducing cycle time and lowering costs.
  • Develop operational key performance measures for safety, customer satisfaction, manufacturing quality and cost improvement.
  • Continually identify, develop and execute new areas for cost savings, working capital efficiency, cash flow management and operational improvement.
  • Partner with other business leaders, including supply chain, purchasing, product development, R&D, sales, quality and S&OP to put in place business processes and procedures to realize targeted improvements.
  • Establish a culture that promotes and utilizes operational excellence and embraces the methodologies of continuous improvement.
  • Develop or expand relationships with key external contacts that focus on company-wide strategic business issues.
  • Oversee manufacturing budget to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements.
  • Responsible for the identification and implementation of important architecture and infrastructure projects and driving safety, quality and cost.
  • Establish and maintain continuous, transparent and proactive communications across the organization. 
  • Mentor, train and develop a manufacturing leadership team that institutionalizes organizational learning and best practices.
  • Define and drive the manufacturing investments strategy and implementation across North America manufacturing operations.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and vision to the manufacturing organization which drives a culture built on the Electrolux leadership model and core competencies, promotes positive employee relations and supports a high performing learning organization.

Minimum Qualification

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Undergraduate Degree in engineering or business field required (Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business preferred)
  • Minimum 15 years of operational leadership experience gained within “best-in-class” manufacturing organizations
  • Proven experience with successfully designing and implementing systems to support highly automated manufacturing and distribution facilities.
  • Lean manufacturing expertise is required (Additional experience with TPM and Six Sigma is preferred)
  • Experience with engineered products, sophisticated manufacturing processes, and environments with extremely tight cycle times where “make to order” requirements are norm
  • Experience designing responsive and nimble operations in a fast-moving, highly complex environment that produces high volumes of product
  • Experience with new product introduction process from concept to production, through end-of-life
  • Willingness to travel 50% or more
